About us

Camden is listening to everyone, including you.

We’re giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

Camden Council is re-designing its early years’ service to have a stronger focus on supporting families in a child’s first 1001 days. This is in response to the increasing body of evidence that demonstrates the importance of this critical phase in securing positive outcomes in childhood and beyond.

About the Team

Central to our new approach is the Parent Child Psychological Support® (PCPS®) service which, research studies indicate, can cut insecure and disorganised attachment amongst children by half.

The programme is delivered universally to parents/caregivers and babies from shortly after birth, until the child is 18 months old, in a Family or Children’s Centre.

Recent descriptions of the PCPS programme by people who have worked on it, or seen it in action, include:

‘It was amazing – the support to parents, it was highly preventative. It is an amazing opportunity to improve outcomes’

The role

We are now looking to find ideal candidates for a number of full-time, leadership roles leading delivery across Camden’s 5 children’s centre localities. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team providing support and personalised feedback to parents about their baby’s development and wellbeing, as well as supporting parents’ emotional health and parenting strategies. Families are invited to attend a series of planned appointments every 3 months (from 3 -18 months). The sessions will be delivered with fidelity to the PCPS® Protocols and Procedures for which you will be specifically trained and supported by the PCPS® Developer.

More information about the programme can be found at: for background on the service and publications and about Camden’s Early Years service at:
