Woodrow Mercer are recruiting for an Interim Head of Healthcare to provide service delivery & operational management of healthcare services for a prison in Yorkshire
We are looking for Interim support for 6 months to manage healthcare services including the delivery of primary care (GP, Opticians, Dental) and substance misuse services. You will also work closely with the service delivery lead for mental health services too.
Reporting into the Cluster Lead for Yorkshire you will be accountable for controlling Operational Delivery, Risk, Governance and Performance of the Prison Healthcare services, but will not be required to undertake the role of CQC registered manager as this is being covered.
The organisation we are recruiting for provide prison and secure environment healthcare service directly and on behalf of the NHS, Local Authorities and ICBs.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with a clinical background such as an RGN, but you won’t need an active pin as this is a non-clinical operational role. Other interesting profiles would include people with substance misuse service experience or someone who has been a Head of Healthcare in a prison environment before.
A strong understanding of how healthcare services are delivered into prisons is highly desirable as the Interim will need to hit the ground running and provide essential cover whilst the organisation waits for the new permanent Head of Healthcare to start in the new year after serving their notice.
The role will be a 6-month contract and the recruitment process will be a one stage Microsoft Teams call with three of the people you will be working with on this contract.
Day rates will be £400+ per day depending on SME provider, travel and experience for the role. Immediate start is essential.
