The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust
Programme Delivery Director
Location: Shropshire
Attractive Salary
At the end of August 2022, the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England formally confirmed approval of the Strategic Outline Case (SOC), bringing the vital transformation of acute hospital services for communities across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales a step closer.
The SOC sets out how this once in a generation investment in our local healthcare system will be utilised to implement the reconfiguration of acute services that was agreed as part of the Future Fit public consultation, which will see the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford specialise in planned care and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital specialise in emergency care.
The Hospitals Transformation Programme has been established to deliver these exciting plans that are aiming to make a real difference to our patients and families:
- Enhanced and more effective emergency care delivered through a contemporary Emergency Department and 24/7 enhanced urgent care services (A&E Local Model in Telford), designed to meet the needs of our communities
- Improved planned care delivered through dedicated facilities that operate throughout the year, supporting the needs of our population
- A much better environment for patients, families and staff
- Improved integration of services for local people
We are looking for a highly credible leader to progress this vital and complex programme through to implementation, someone that is motivated by the opportunity to transform local health and care services and is seeking a role with national profile. This is truly a once in a career opportunity, providing the challenge and recognition that only a programme of this size and scale can offer.
The successful candidate will be excited by the prospect of leading a diverse group of internal colleagues, external stakeholders and community representatives through a significant programme of change, and of maximising the value that this investment will bring to our local population.
You will bring significant experience of delivering major, complex, multi-year infrastructure projects and be highly skilled at creating and maintaining enthusiasm, momentum and grip across all programme workstreams. Adept at working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to maintain the purpose and pace of the programme, you will also be able to demonstrate outstanding programme management skills and a robust, rigorous approach to managing performance delivery.
