Following the promotion of the Deputy Director of People & Culture into the Executive Director of People & Culture vacancy, we are delighted to be advertising to fill this critical Deputy Director position.

Our vision at Nottinghamshire Healthcare is to ‘Make a difference to the communities we serve by delivering the highest quality physical and mental health care to our patients, and by tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience and access’.  We know that our 9,000-strong team is critical to the achievement of that vision.  They tell us that they come to work to ‘Make a Difference’ to our patients and service-users.  It is therefore paramount that we deliver a People & Culture Service to the Trust which creates an environment where our people can reach their potential.   In doing so, we believe we can ensure our patients and service users consistently experience great care.

We are therefore looking for an experienced, inspirational and values-based people practitioner to join the Trust’s Senior Leadership Team and lead on the people aspects of the Trust’s 2022-27 ‘Making a Difference’ Strategy through delivery of Our People Plan.

We are a fun and committed team who strive to do the very best for our people.  We work hard, but we also understand the need to maintain our own wellbeing.  In return for your hard work, enthusiasm and commitment; you will be afforded the flexibility to manage your own time and have a healthy work-life balance.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of Our People Plan which underpins the Trust’s ‘Making a Difference’ Strategy.  They will do this by leading the People & Culture Senior Team, providing operational and tactical oversight on the various portfolios which sit under the People & Culture Service.  They will also deputise for the Executive Director of People & Culture, providing credible and effective HR/OD support to the Board, Executive Team, and often with external partners in the Integrated Care System, in the absence of the Director.

They will be a member of the Trust’s Senior Leadership Team and as a HR/OD professional will take a critical role in the development of that team in line with our organisational vision and values.  They will also take part in the Gold On-Call rota and therefore require experience of tactical and strategic incident management.
