We are looking for a strategic, ambitious and commercially focused Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) to join our Board of Directors.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) is an integrated Trust of 6,000+ colleagues providing hospital and community services on the edge of the glorious Pennines. We are rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission, are a top performing Trust for Emergency and Cancer Care and widely acknowledged as a national digital lead when it comes to caring for people across our local and regional systems.

Work is currently underway to create a brand new, purpose-built Emergency Department on our Huddersfield site, with the very latest digital and clinical technology. In addition, we are currently hard at work on the expansion of services at our Halifax site to enhance patient experience, as well as provide a positive environment for colleagues. As a member of the Board, the CDIO plays a crucial role in these developments.

Our people are at the core of everything we do, hence our commitment to One Culture of Care. Our focus is to care for and support each other in order to provide outstanding compassionate care to our patients. That is why we are looking for a collaborative, creative, innovative and compassionate leader to join us in this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technology leader to join a Trust which is already seen as a digital exemplar on the next stage of our journey. We are looking for someone who can further transform services to patients at CHFT, our communities in Kirklees and Calderdale and services across West Yorkshire, by fully embedding existing digital systems and adopting the best technology systems and solutions available to further improve and transform care.

Candidates will have a full understanding of the issues impacting the health and social care sector and will have an excellent track record of delivering against targets as well as being a respected leader and team player.

The successful candidate will help us continue to build CHFT as a ‘go to’ Trust on digital solutions, building on our past successes, including our work in rolling out our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and our work on health inequalities, which is recognised nationally.

As a key player in a team that is committed to making a real difference to patients lives, the role will also be responsible for the provision of information technology services to CHFT and the growth of The Health Informatics Service (THIS) that provides services to 28 health and social care customers across our region.  The successful candidate will therefore have a fantastic opportunity to lead the integration of health and social care data systems across health and social care locally, regionally and nationally.
