Corporate Governance Manager:

Here at Woodrow Mercer Healthcare Recruitment, we are currently recruiting for a corporate governance manager to join the team at a south of England NHS Trust.   

It is an interim band 8B role which is to start ASAP for 3 months (with a view to be extended). We are seeking individuals who has proven experience of working in an NHS or healthcare organisation within corporate Governance and is looking for their next interim role.

Band: 8A

Contract: 3 Months

Start: ASAP

Base: Remote working

Job Role:

In addition, with the Executive Team and other senior leaders, and under the oversight of the Chief of Staff, take the lead role in reporting strategic risk and assurance using the Board’s Assurance Framework, in order that the Board can manage and monitor all aspects of strategic risk within the Trust.

Ensure that the Trust has in place and follows robust corporate risk assurance processes and seek to improve these where possible. Ensure that corporate assurance documentation is consistent and up to date.

Act as the main point of contact for the Internal Auditor and Local Counter Fraud Specialist and liaise with Executives/Senior Management to ensure timely responses to audit findings and provision of updates on progress against audit actions.

Support the Company Secretary in the discharge of her duties in respect of corporate governance, including the management of conflicts of interest, preparation of the Trust’s Annual Report and Annual Governance Statement, use of the Trust’s seal and the appointment and induction of nonexecutive directors.

Required:

• Extensive experience of risk management Relevant experience in a corporate governance environment Degree OR Equivalent experience in risk management/ corporate governance, in the NHS. Evidence of recent and ongoing continuous professional and personal development action and activity. Experience in report writing.

Desired:

• Experience of developing policies and procedures audit experience. Masters degree in corporate governance or similar/ comparable experience.
