Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is at a pivotal stage in its development as we continue our journey of improvement. We have recruited a strong team of Board members, with considerable experience within the NHS, as well as both wider public and private sectors. This has culminated in significant quality and safety improvements, and wide recognition we are one of the most improved trusts in the country.

We are now planning for an exciting future as a significant provider of acute care to almost 600,000 people and as an active partner within the Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICS. We have expanded our capacity and are currently developing new operating theatres and diagnostic services as well as undertaking considerable investment in our Emergency Department in Worcester, as part of an ambitious clinical services strategy. We are working closing with the Virginia Mason Institute to help us create a first-class service which Puts Patients First and to bring about service developments, change and improvement to maximise the benefits for patients and staff.

We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer who shares our vision, ambition and values, someone who can provide leadership to the team, develop relationships with our clinicians and partners across the Herefordshire and Worcestershire system and further afield. We need to further build a culture which enables transformation and service improvement, and which will help us deliver long term clinical excellence underpinned by accountability, ownership and delivery aligned to our Trust-wide signature behaviours:
