University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust is one of the largest teaching Trusts in the UK with sites in both Coventry and Rugby and rated as GOOD by the Care Quality Commission. We are committed to delivering world class services and have established and embedded the UHCW Improvement (UHCWi) System in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute in Seattle focusing on putting the patient first using lean management systems and methodologies. We are linked to the top-class universities of both Warwick and Coventry.

We are extremely proud of our highly skilled and dedicated staff who provide compassionate care and support to our patients and their families and are the first university hospital in the UK to be awarded the internationally acclaimed Pathway to Excellence® designation recognising our nursing and midwifery excellence. We continue to build on our national success, with our Centre for Care Excellence in partnership with Coventry University, ensuring Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional colleagues are at the forefront of research and innovation.

As Chief Nursing Officer you will provide professional and executive leadership to ensure the continuous improvement of our Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health Professional teams, alongside Executive lead for our Chaplaincy, Volunteer Services and Infection Protection and Control teams to support the achievement of our ambitions.

As a driven and influential leader you will have an excellent track record in leadership, you are likely to have worked at Executive Director or Chief Nursing level in a large complex organisation, with a clear demonstrable record in proactively tackling health inequalities and an inclusive culture.   You will be experienced with addressing the complex challenges and your first-class communication skills will afford you the ability to be able to work in partnership across boundaries to inspire teams to deliver the best possible care to all our patients.

In return we can offer a unique opportunity to be part of an experienced Leadership Team within an innovative organisation.

We are committed to ensuring that we are able to reflect the diversity of our local communities that we serve. We are underrepresented at Board level by those from a BAME background, individuals with a disability or those identifying as LGBTQIA+ and would welcome candidates from a diverse background.
