EPR Programme Director 

Start in February. 12 month role. Mainly remote working. Inside IR35

The Programme Director will cover 3 Trusts in the region, to implement a ONE EPR system successfully.

 

The main purpose of this job is to provide senior and autonomous leadership for the coordination and delivery of an agreed portfolio of a complex and broad range of Electronic Patient Record programme and projects that progress delivery of the ICS long term strategic plans.  

 

In order to deliver the transformational EPR technology platform, the trusts need additional senior capacity to lead a programme of work towards this including leading on the development and securing approval for business cases, and programme implementation.

 

In achieving the overall aim of the role, the post holder will need to work across organisational boundaries with key stakeholders across the ICS, and with key external stakeholders.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Identify, initiate and analyse EPR system transformation proposals in their development, approval and implementation, improve patient care, and take account of relevant clinical evidence of effectiveness and that efficiency savings are achieved without compromising patient safety or service quality.
  • To provide accountability for the service and ensure that the EPR programme systematically prioritises patient safety and improving quality of services for patients, and joined-up service delivery, and that these commitments by the Trusts are recognised and respected by stakeholders.
  • To ensure that the programme contributes to the Trusts’ strategic objective of improving the health of patients in line with national standards, interpreting organisation policies as necessary. 
  • To provide line and/ or matrix management of staff allocated to the programme in line with the Trusts’ policies and procedures, and the commitments to staff and other stakeholders.
  • To lead and direct any staff seconded or otherwise working for the programme. Carry out other duties as may be required by their Line Manager and/or Programme Board.
  • Provide senior leadership and transformational change management expertise. Ensure a robust programme and governance infrastructure is in place to deliver the EPR vision.
  • Effectively manage key stakeholders and interdependent relationships across all partners with particular emphasis on clinical and medical colleagues.
  • Provide executive-level change management expertise with specific responsibility for delivering the vision for integrated care leading on the transformation of care pathways across the health systems, supporting the development and implementation of new delivery models and system integration.
  • Provide effective leadership and direction, identifying and securing commitment to change and engaging and managing stakeholders in order to deliver high profile and complex transformational change.
  • Work with the programme management team to ensure key processes and policies are defined and implemented as necessary.
  • Responsible for transforming and delivering a successful implementation of EPR system across the Trusts, overall improving quality and safety of patient care.
  • Create focussed and tailored communications to senior and multi-agency audiences that stimulate interest and relay complex issues in an effective and easy to understand way.
  • Provide expert leadership in developing and implementing a culture of service excellence, working to embed the standards, behaviours and strategies needed to bring about lasting improvements in service delivery in all areas.
  • Ensure that the correct risks and dependencies have been identified, analysed and rated and that appropriate the mitigation and activity is in place to manage them.
  • Drive a strong pace of change whilst maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
