This is a highly exciting time to be part of a new and developing Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board (ICB). We exist to improve population health, tackle health inequalities, enhance productivity and help the NHS support broader social and economic development, and we have a huge opportunity to positively influence the long-term health and wellbeing of residents across our wide and diverse geography.

Our geographical area sits in the heart of the Thames Valley, where people enjoy good health, but where there are areas of severe deprivation that hold back the life chances for some people with the negative consequence often seen through their lifelong health and care needs.

We work in close partnership with local authorities, NHS trusts, academic partners and the voluntary and private sectors, listening to our people and communities in order to find the best possible ways to provide the services they want and need. Across our geography we have so many fantastic opportunities to harness the capacity and capabilities of our partners across the voluntary sector, education, life sciences, community, and faith leadership alongside our partners in health and local government. We are therefore seeking to recruit experienced, determined, inspirational and values-based leader who can role model compassionate leadership and help, as a member of the Exec team, to shape and develop the BOB ICB culture, as the new Chief People Officer.

The CPO will be committed to achieving this vision and can build effective partnerships with our wide range of stakeholders. The post will take the lead for the development, alignment with partners, and delivery of the ICB’s long-term people strategy. Setting the strategic direction for how the ICB and ICS build capacity and improvement through collaboration and partnership working, and working with inspiring leaders across the system to define our cultural ambition and build staff engagement, and contributing to how we deliver services to almost two million people who live and work in our system.

The postholder will play a pivotal role in building a strong, vibrant and engaged workforce for the future, using developed influencing and relationship building skills, strategic vision and acumen, and providing inspirational and inclusive leadership to colleagues across the HR service and within the ICS.

We are keen to welcome fresh ideas and expertise to lead our ICB, with people who are passionate about achieving positive change – and your leadership experience can come from any background: from health, local or national Government, from the private or the third sectors.

If you are up for this challenge, have strong public service values and want to apply your diverse skills and experience in an environment where you can make a lasting impact on people’s lives, we want to hear from you. We are being supported in this appointment by Alumni Global and would encourage you to contact Simon Green or Yvonne Okyere-Whalley on +44 7842 003197 for a confidential conversation about the role.
