Interim Business and Governance Manager –

Northeast based Client

Woodrow Mercer Healthcare have been approached by an NHS Trust based in the Northeast of the UK to provide support to the Trust Secretary to provide Corporate Governance advice and support to the organisation.

This is a full-time position on an interim basis for 3 months initially with a possible view to extend afterwards. This role is deemed inside IR35 through an umbrella solution and offers Hybrid working with 2/3 days remote working and a necessary need to be on site to attend board meetings. This role also comes under a band 7 and can offer a daily rate of up to £200 per day.

Job Descriptio

The post holder will work to ensure that effective and compliant integrated Corporate Governance arrangements are in place and the Board and its committees are supported to operate effectively and efficiently. Within this position you will also have managerial responsibility of the reception staff and four executive support staff as well. The post holder will also need a strong governance focus to ensure compliance with agreed governance procedures within the Trust and to be responsible for servicing a number of Trust meetings.

 

Core responsibilities

  • Maintain the updated register of interests of directors and other senior staff and report on a regular basis as required by national guidance.
  • Organising conferences and seminars.
  • Responsible for minutes of formal meetings, reports and briefing papers in accordance with relevant timescales, which requires prolonged concentration.
  • Support the Trust Secretary and Head of Risk Management in the utilization of the Board Assurance Framework and the assurance mapping process to identify and record the key sources of assurance.
  • Ensure the Trust receives robust and timely advice and services on corporate governance matters.
  • Support the Trust Secretary in the management and development of Trust policies relevant to the post.
