My Midlands based client is looking for an experienced Deputy Head of Procurement to join their high performing and expanding team. Reporting into the Head of Procurement and with responsibility for a team, your role will be to provide leadership and direction to the Procurement department as well as support for the ongoing development and execution of the procurement and supply chain strategies. You will also influence strategic and business decision making within the organisation by ensuring the provision of high quality information and analysis as well as providing professional and commercial support to corporate Procurement service customers. The key duties of the role will include: To provide expert strategic procurement advice to the Directorate and to relevant Executive Members Help to co-ordinate category management for categories you are responsible forTake responsibility for high profile projects as delegated by the Head of procurement To develop and lead a specific strategic sourcing programme for defined categories, across a number of Directorates, taking the lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories, and contributing significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets. Support in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings across a large portfolio across the organisation, by analysing current spend information and undertaking market analysis to develop procurement strategies. Running complex above threshold procurements, managing multiple senior stakeholders and reporting and presenting as required To ensure all procurement activities operate in full accordance with legal, environmental and sustainability requirements The successful will ideally be CIPS qualified, or working towards it, and be able to demonstrate experience in leading teams as well as leading and delivering on high profile procurement exercises in a large environment. Previous experience within a public sector organisation is essential, as is the ability to manage senior stakeholders and deliver savings and efficiencies through procurement exercises. This role requires 2 days a week on site and will pay circa £56,000 to £65,000 + bonus.I I
