Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust

Non-Executive Director

Location: Greater London

Remuneration: £12,432 – for 4 days a month

April 2022 marked the first anniversary of the partnership working between Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I), and Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH), who together form the North London Mental Health Partnership. The partnership has an ambitious five year strategy focusing on cutting edge, local, preventative, co-produced and person centred mental health and well being support to the diverse communities we serve across North London.

C&I itself provides a range of mental health and substance misuse services to people living in Camden and Islington, whilst also providing some further services to residents in Kingston. We serve some of the most diverse regions in the country, who also have some of the highest rates of mental health problems as well. With two inpatient facilities at Highgate and St Pancras, the majority of our services are delivered directly in the community, and we have contact with roughly 44,000 individual service users each year.

As well as being a part of the North London Mental Health Partnership, the Trust is a member of University College London Partners, one of the worlds leading academic health science networks. Our 2,300 staff are passionate about living our values, values that underpin our strategic priorities: we value each other, we are empowered, we keep things simple and we are connected. The development of the North London Mental Health Partnership builds on our existing focus of reducing health inequalities, tackling variation, and improving outcomes for service users, and we are looking for people who share our passion for these goals to join our board.

This is an exceptional opportunity for two non-executive directors to join the board, one with experience within mental health provision, and the other with significant strategic finance experience in large public organisations. Experience of shaping and delivering change across organisational boundaries and complex organisations would be welcomed too. One of these posts will also become the Vice Chair of the Trust.

The Trust are committed to increasing the Board's visible diversity to better reflect the population and staff it serves and welcomes applications from all backgrounds. Ideally applicants should live in or have strong connections to the Trust's boroughs, or strong connections to the communities it serves.
