Interim Chief Nurse

We are currently working with a large Integrated Care Board in the North Midlands who are seeking an interim Chief Nurse to commence in July whilst they recruit to this VSM role substantively.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role will provide direct internal leadership to the ICBs Nursing and Quality functions and will be accountable for providing high quality clinical and professional leadership of the ICB's activities. Working in partnership with the Medical Director you will be accountable for securing professional clinical and care leadership in delivery of the ICB's objectives.

Additionally, you will form part of the wider network of clinical and care leaders in the region and will be responsible for building partnerships and collaborating with provider collaboratives, public health, local government, other partners, and local people to develop the nursing offer and approach and ensure that the system delivers better access, improvements in life outcomes and reductions in health inequity.

This role requires the skills and experience of a Chief Nurse, ideally who has managed the nursing offer in both an NHS Acute provider and a commissioning board.

Skills/experience:

• An experienced NHS Director of Nursing or Chief Nurse with significant strategic healthcare leadership expertise across the nursing portfolio
• Experience of working at Board level within an NHS organisation
• Relevant nursing qualification and current registration
• Experience gained in both an NHS Acute role and system leadership environment.

Commencing a handover early July this is likely to be a 3 to 5 month role during which you may wish to explore the potential of applying for the substantive role. This ICB offers hybrid working, with an expectation that Board Executives will be onsite 2 days per week.
