We have a substantial and expanding clinical research portfolio, including significant joint research with our academic partners including The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.  Also, extensive collaborations with other national academic bodies, and UK and oversea centres of excellence.

Our dedicated Clinical Research & Innovation Office provides hands-on support and advice to researchers, members of the public, patients and industry partners about getting involved in research, study design and set-up.  We have cutting-edge clinical research facilities and a successful and expanding Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).  

Joining us as our Research Director, you will provide overall leadership and accountability for all research activities, development, and performance across the Trust. Reporting into our Medical Director (Development), Dr David Black you will drive work within the trust and with wider stakeholders, including universities and regional research infrastructures, increase our research activity and impact.  You will maximise a coordinated and integrated approach to research-informed clinical service delivery across the South Yorkshire Integrated Care System.

The successful candidate will be a registered healthcare professional with a proven track record of research and development in the NHS. This is a highly visible, senior leadership role, and requires someone who is visionary and ambitious, able to lead the development and implementation of an effective delivery plan based on our new Research and Innovation high level strategy. You will also play a key role in managing the interface between research and innovation and be instrumental in ensuing the trust board is informed and able to assure our progress on delivering strategic research objectives.
