Interim Director of Operations - Healthcare

My client are going through a period of change and growth, and with this comes a change of systems. They are currently recruiting for an interim director of operations to lead on the operational side of the business. In October, the business will be going live on their new EPR system, as well as LIMS Pathology system over multiple different sites. Circa 40,000 people. Whilst they confirm the hire of their new director of operations, they need someone to take the reigns and support with the people and the potential large amount of change.

There are operations and service managers for each site, however this role initially will be to look after the element of system integration , although no technical IT expertise is needed, it would certainly be an advantage to have been a part of projects around implementation of new systems and the people element.

What they needs is a very experienced senior operational leader to head the service up, they do not need an expert in everything they do, but they need someone who can run a service well and who understand the complexities of working with the NHS and NHS staff. As this is an interim role, a background in pathology /science would be essential as they need someone to really "hit the ground running" It is more important that they are a sharp operator, with a good eye for finance and also the ability to lead people through change. They need someone who can lead people, run a P&L and drive change. Alongside this, they also need someone who can be a bit of a politician and a diplomat who can work with all parties as needed.
