Job Details
We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an interim General Manager for the Outpatient directorate. This role will be for 3 months initially, though expected to extend up to 6 months and is expected to be based onsite.
This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at c£310 per day.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the day to day running of Outpatient services which sit within the directorate;
- In conjunction with other Operational Managers at the organisation, engage and work collaboratively to manage operational demand and activity;
- Accountable for the performance and management of Directorate resources in conjunction with all relevant stakeholders by providing operational and strategic business planning and leadership to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Directorate, Divisional and organisation service strategies and objectives; in particular focusing on delivering performance standards, service improvements and efficiencies that will enhance patient care and improve patient pathways;
- Ensure the delivery of operational standards, quality, performance and financial balance;
- Monitor and review business and service performance at all levels, across all dimensions of care and delivery, reporting on performance, taking remedial action as required and suggesting improvements and proposing new ways of working.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Masters degree level qualification in Management or Health related subject or equivalent knowledge;
- Credible and proven track record of Operational Management within Outpatient services;
- Experience in a senior management role at Band 8b as a minimum;
- Experience of working in an NHS environment.
