The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities

Salary: Band 9
Contract: Permanent
Location: Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, and St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping. Employing more than 4,000 staff and serving a local population of around 350,000 the Trust has an extended catchment area incorporating a population of up to 500,000 across Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire. The operation of these facilities forms part of our longer term strategy of bringing services closer to where patients live, making services more accessible and easily available.

We are an ambitious Trust, operating over forty different services and aiming to be the most digitally enabled hospital nationally. We continue to invest in our site including our new Aseptic Unit, providing specialist chemotherapy treatment. Beyond the hospital, we have also played a major role in the creation of place-based partnerships across the health and care system – enabling everyone to receive care that runs smoothly, regardless of organisation.

The Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities is an influential and important position within the Trust. Reporting into the Director of Strategy and Estates, the post-holder will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of our Estates and Facilities functions, ensuring support in the delivery of high-quality healthcare. You will provide strategic direction and advice on the safety of the built environment and hold corporate responsibility, providing assurance to the Trust Board and Trust Committees.

If you are passionate, enthusiastic and motivated by the challenges this opportunity offers and believe that you have the experience and ambition to play a key role in delivering our vision, values, and strategic objectives, then we would welcome an application from you.
As a Trust we are proud to be an inclusive employer and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
