We are looking for a credible, collaborative and visible leader to join our Board as our new Chief Operating Officer. Are you up for the challenge?

Here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are made up of nearly 10,000 dynamic, dedicated staff. Our people work collaboratively across the Trust and with our partners across Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB to provide a wide range of healthcare services, ensuring we continuously provide excellent care with compassion. We are large acute Trust and tertiary centre with an annual income of over £550m and we provide a full range of general hospital services to almost 450,000 people in Preston, Chorley and South Ribble, as well as specialist tertiary services to 1.8m people across the wider region.

Our ambition is to deliver excellent care with compassion, and we think we're doing pretty well so far - but you’ll help us progress further, ensuing we continue improving the health and wellbeing of our diverse communities.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join our Board. Reporting into our newly appointed Chief Executive, Silas Nicholls, you will work with colleagues and partners to reshape our services, tackle long-running operational pressures and improve the experience of our patients.  This role will also play a critical part in shaping our exciting New Hospitals Programme which we believe is a once in a generation opportunity for our organisation and our populations.

As our new Chief Operating Officer, you will be passionate about the wellbeing of our people and putting the patient at the centre of every decision.  An experienced Chief Operating Officer or with significant Deputy experience gained at scale in an acute NHS environment, you will bring experience of leading transformational change, a strong focus on quality and performance and a track record in innovation in service delivery.  With proven experience of system wide working; you will support our work as an anchor institution and quickly build credible partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to improve the health and wellbeing of our residents now and in the future.

We know it’s a big role, but we have BIG ambitions and plans so need someone who can help us achieve and surpass them.
