Nottingham CityCare Partnership
Deputy Director of People

Salary: AfC Band 8d
Contract: Permanent
Location: Nottingham

Nottingham CityCare is far more than a simple provider of community healthcare services; we care for communities and employ local people who are embedded in those communities. We support and develop initiatives that aim to prevent ill health and injury and invest our social return in building wider community wellbeing. This is an exciting time to join us in our journey as our new Deputy Director of People.

We were established in 2011 to provide healthcare services to the communities of Nottingham City. We employ approximately 1,200 staff who deliver high quality care through a broad range of health services in the community, ranging from health visiting for young families to community nursing and home-based rehabilitation services. In addition, we operate Nottinghamshire Urgent Treatment Centre.

As a social enterprise with an annual turnover of over £50m, we reinvest any surplus we make into improving our services and have the freedom to be flexible, innovative and responsive in delivering the services local people need, when and where they need them in the community.

We have an ambitious three-year strategy with a mission to “Make a difference every day to the health and wellbeing of our communities”. Our organisation is a great place to work, with a passionate, values-driven and committed executive team at the helm working with a talented, caring, and compassionate workforce.

We are now looking to fill an exciting and crucial position to our senior leadership team – our new Deputy Director of People, reporting to the Chief People Officer.  You will provide strong strategic and operational leadership and direction to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the full range of services within our People Directorate. You will proactively lead and provide solutions to workforce challenges, in accordance with the organisation’s strategic aims and objectives.  You will lead a programme of OD interventions to support the delivery of operational excellence and positive culture change.

The post-holder will support the development and implementation of the People Strategy and EDI Strategy. You will form an essential communication link between the Services, Corporate Services and relevant external organisations, deputising for the Director when required. You will have the opportunity to participate as a partner in relevant ICS-wide People and OD Groups ensuring we are represented within the local healthcare OD & People agenda and included/updated on joint initiatives and latest developments and opportunities across the ICS footprint.

We are looking for a collaborative and compassionate leader with a natural ability to build trust. You will bring significant experience across all elements of the People and OD agenda at a managerial level in a complex organisation with a proven track record of developing high performing teams. You will possess strong leadership skills, be able to deal with highly complex issues, ensure that strategy and policy are effectively designed, implemented, and performance managed within the organisation and across the wider strategic footprint.

As an inclusive organisation, we welcome applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds.
