JOINT CHAIR

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust

University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust

Due to the retirement of our current chair, John MacDonald, the search for the new Joint Chair for University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group has begun.

We are looking for someone with experience of working at scale and NHS experience is preferable. We expect our new Chair to be excited by the opportunities for radical change and they also need to recognise the risks. They will understand how NHS Trusts and Universities work together to deliver research, education and improvement and they will want to work closely with us to strengthen our relationships with our local communities and our system partners in our local Integrated Care Boards. Strong affiliation with Leicestershire, Rutland or Northamptonshire is desirable but not a prerequisite and the new chair will need to share our passion for the East Midlands.

With a time commitment of approximately three days per week, the new Chair will predominantly be an outward facing role and will have the full support of our Boards including Vice Chairs.

Collaboration and integration are now firmly the way to sustainably deliver population health improvements and we are excited about our developing provider collaborative between the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) and the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group (UHN). Working closely with Richard Mitchell, Joint Chief Executive, the Chair will have huge scope to build on the strong existing collaboration and partnerships between us to shape and transform our organisations.
