North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

Chief Operating Officer

Attractive salary

Location: Cumbria

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS FT (NCIC) provides acute hospital and community health services to approximately half a million residents. As an integral component of the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS), our workforce exceeding 6,500 dedicated healthcare professionals are responsible for delivering over 70 services across 15 primary sites, ensuring comprehensive health and care coverage throughout our region.

We are on a mission to provide the best possible experience across our services for our patients, staff, and partners. Achieving this goal hinges on our 5-year Strategy ‘building integrated care - happier, healthier communities’ and fast-evolving alliance with the Northern Acutes in our ICS. Whilst we still have a way to go in addressing challenges in our workforce, access to services, and improving clinical care, we have seen real progress and are committed to making the necessary improvements.

As our new Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the Trust’s operational delivery with a primary focus on the operational management and development of clinical services. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Clinical Collaborative, specialty and operational leadership teams to deliver high-quality services that are responsive, safe, effective, caring, and well-led. You will also be a key presence with colleagues at Place level and across our wider ICS to implement new care delivery models and lead transformation across our region as we continue to progress into a new era for healthcare provision.

We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced operational NHS leaders at board level, or at sub-board level if you have experience from a large and complex acute provider. You will bring demonstrable experience of delivering positive change, leading and inspiring teams, and the ability to establish strong working relationships with system partners to deliver and improve the services we offer to our patients and service users.

There has never been a more exciting time to join NCIC. For a confidential discussion about us and the role.
