Airedale NHS Foundation Trust
Chair
Remuneration £47,100 per annum for a time commitment of 2-3 days a week
At Airedale NHS Foundation Trust we provide high quality, personalised, acute, elective, specialist and community care for a population of over 200,000 people from a widespread area within Yorkshire and Lancashire. We employ over 2,000 dedicated staff and have over 350 volunteers providing services from our main hospital site, Airedale hospital, and at other locations across our communities. Ultimately, what makes Airedale special is our people. Not just our staff, but our Governors, volunteers, patients, visitors, and wider population who make up the Airedale family. We sit at the heart of our community, and our communities are very proud of their Trust.
These are exciting times with a once-in-a-generation opportunity to design and build a completely new hospital here on our Steeton site by 2030. By joining us you’ll play a part in this journey to develop a state-of-the-art, modern healthcare facility. We are also introducing a new electronic patient record, part of our wider ambition for our digital future – a future that builds on our significant reputation for success in telemedicine and digital care.
Following six successful years, our Chair will be stepping down in September and we are seeking to appoint a new Chair to lead our Board and Council of Governors during a critical time for our Trust and the transformation of health and care services in Bradford District and Craven. Our ambition is to have thriving people and healthy communities and we play a key role within Bradford District and Craven Place and West Yorkshire and Harrogate Integrated Care System. Our new Chair will be a highly collaborative and influential leader capable of forging strong partnerships and able to enthuse and persuade others to embrace changes and integration in healthcare provision.
We are looking for an outstanding, visible and values-driven leader with extensive senior Board level experience in complex, regulated and person-centred environments; comfortable in operating at scale. You will be passionate about leading our Council of Governors and Board of Directors; will show a strong commitment to our diverse local communities and quickly impact with credibility with a range of partners. Your strong focus on equality, diversity and inclusion will be critical and you will hold the interests of patients and the wellbeing of our staff and communities at the heart of your leadership.
