Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Young People

I am currently recruiting for an Interim Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Young People (8A) on behalf of a Mental Health trust in the West Midlands.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

• Serving as the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Young People, in accordance with the guidelines outlined in Working Together 2023, as part of the interagency strategy for child safeguarding.
• Representing the Trust in multi-agency forums.
• Leading the development and implementation of the Safeguarding Children agenda and service provision across the Trust, collaborating with other services to achieve these goals.
• Providing assurance to the Trust Board and external assessors, such as the Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships (LSCPs), regarding the safeguarding processes within the Trust.
• Leading the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of effective systems for detecting, preventing, surveilling, investigating, and controlling harm and abuse against children, with support from the Head of Safeguarding.
• Leading communication and coordination efforts, including education and training, related to Safeguarding Children and Young People.
• Managing junior team members within the safeguarding team.
• Acting as a deputy for the Head of Safeguarding and other Named Nurses when needed.
• Participating in the Trust’s On-Call rota as the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Young People.
