Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children CLA & CL

Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse with experience in the area of Safeguarding Children and Looked After Children and Care Leavers working at a strategic and system level.
An NHS ICB has an exciting opportunity for a Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children, Children Looked After and Care Leavers post.
The post holder will provide key strategic and professional leadership role for Safeguarding Children, Children Looked after and Care Leavers across the locality on all aspects of the health service contribution whilst also working as part of the wider ICB Safeguarding team in ensuring that the ICB fulfils their statutory safeguarding duties.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and strategic leader to fulfil the statutory requirements of this role.
You will work with a variety of colleagues across the health economy and with multi-agency partners to seek assurance and support organisations in discharging their statutory requirements to safeguard children.
Applicants should have extensive experience and knowledge of the Safeguarding Children's agenda including the impact of child abuse and neglect, domestic abuse, child exploitation, PREVENT, as well as the relevant statutory guidance relating to safeguarding children such as Working Together to Safeguard Children (DH 2023), Safeguarding Children, Young People and Adults at Risk in the NHS: Safeguarding Accountability and Assurance Framework (2024).
You will be required to ensure the ICB's statutory compliance reporting to the Director of Nursing and ICB Executive teams as required to provide assurance and to manage escalation of any risks or concerns relating to Safeguarding Children, Children Looked After.
You will be required to act as a vital source of safeguarding expertise and advice to the ICB and relevant agencies, working across the health and social economy, providing strategic leadership and direction in all aspects of safeguarding children to ensure an integrated and coordinated response across health and care organisations within the locality of the ICB.
