Deputy Designated Nurse Safeguarding Adults & Children

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the Safeguarding Team. This role works as part of the wider team in ensuring that the ICB fulfils their statutory safeguarding duties.
The Deputy Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children and Adults supports the Designated Nurse Safeguarding Children and Designated Professional for Safeguarding Adults to provide strategic and professional leadership on all aspects of the health service contribution to Safeguarding children and adults and all relevant agendas, including supporting the organisation to meet all its statutory safeguarding responsibilities.

The post-holder will provide advice and support to Named Professionals and Primary Care staff to support the effectiveness and quality improvement of safeguarding practice within commissioned services.
Through effective leadership and multi-agency working, the post holder will contribute towards promoting high quality, research- based services and the continued development of safeguarding children and adult practice within the Integrated Care Board (ICB) across the Integrated Care System (ICS) and within the broader multi-agency partnership.
Possess, impart and apply in-depth knowledge of local and national safeguarding legislation, policies and procedures in the commissioning of high quality services, providing expert input into the planning, standard setting and assurance processes in health services.
Take responsibility for working with colleagues in the consolidated safeguarding team across the locality to support shared work priorities, taking the lead on any identified areas for a minimum of 1 x PA per week.
