Woodrow Mercer Healthcare recruitment are currently recruiting for a Assistant Director of Clinical Services support a healthcare provider based in West Yorkshire. The role will be working for an organisation that provide health services across Yorkshire on an NHS and Private basis.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report directly into the Managing Director in reference to full operational delivery of the service.
  • Support the Medical Director in managing the day to day operation of the clinical services department and work with the Medical Director and Director of Governance, to drive improvements in the quality of care for all patients and the safeguarding and PREVENT agenda.
  • Working across the business providing clinical services input and support to the service delivery.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to monitor performance and information systems effectiveness on a monthly basis.
  • Be commercially aware of business requirements and assist in developing future growth.
  • Maintain optimum scheduling, utilisation and efficiency practices. Support and advise with project management and committee participation as needed.
  • Develop Team goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
  • Develop a culture of open communication where diversity, opinions and differing views are valued and open and frank discussions encouraged in order to achieve high quality reliable care for patients.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of clinical services staff as required, subject to budgetary limits and approval.
  • Plan and develop an appropriate staff skill mix, subject to budgetary limits.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of agreed staffing levels.
  • Ensure the professional development of clinical staff, with regular individual reviews, consistent with their personal and professional needs and the development.
  • Be responsible for grievance and disciplinary matters relating to clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with staff in the development and measurement of performance standards of patient care and contributes to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Care Quality Commission, Key lines of enquiry of Quality & Safety, Support infection control standards, legislation and regulatory requirements. Ensure evidence of compliance can be produced for inspections/assessments.
  • Support and help people understand why things go wrong and how to put them right, learning from serious incidents and complaints, promoting and ensuing high standards of professional and clinical practice.
  • Safeguarding lead for the organisation strategic and professional lead for all safeguarding matters. Providing support and professional guidance to other healthcare professionals on all aspects of safeguarding for adults and children including the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and PREVENT.

 

Essential

  • RCN registered.
  • Evidence of 1st and 2nd line management
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English.
  • Evidence of consistent developmental progression within current and previous roles
  • Demonstrable coaching and development skills
  • Demonstrable Leadership skills and transformational management
  • Demonstrable presentation & facilitation skills
  • Ten years of clinical practice to include three years of healthcare management.
  • Previous experience working with the CQC, as Registered Manager is desirable.
  • Evidence of leading an organization to a Good or Outstanding CQC Inspection is desirable.
  • Proven experience of managing and motivating a large, diverse team.

 

Desirable

  • Degree in Nursing (Adult) plus Master’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in delivering community diagnostic servicesety management.
