Woodrow Mercer Healthcare Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Head of Digital Systems to support a Healthcare Provider based in the East Midlands. 

The role will require 3 days working on site per week, 2 days working from home (the provider has different sites that can be reached dependent on locality).

 

Overview:

Responsible for the delivery of planning, implementation and support of key digital systems within the business.  This includes the effective management of digital system roadmaps and the associated change and digital clinical safety of such platforms. 

 

Key Success Measures

•Ownership and management of identified strategic digital assets within the organisation by means of a road-mapping and review process.

•Ensure that digital system stakeholders are identified and offered the ability to be involved in review and change to any created roadmaps.

•Delivery of a set of plans and actions to be implemented as part of an annual plan of work which will contribute to the business’s Critical Success Factors (CSFs) and over all Digital/Corporate Strategy.

•Ensure all digital systems are subject to a set of clear change processes that have been communicated and agreed across the organisation.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability

•Demonstrate leadership across the Digital Systems Dept. staff to ensure behaviours and culture are aligned to the companies values.

•Be the custodian of agreed strategic digital roadmaps, ensuring appropriate levels of scrutiny and engagement are undertaken with stakeholders.

•Ownership and management of all digital systems change and associated / allocated budgets, within the organisation against agreed processes.

•Working closely with our Service Desk, define, create and implement support arrangements against identified digital platforms being able to monitor delivery against them.

•Lead on discussions of major changes within the organisation to strategic digital systems as part of contractual changes and new implementations.

•Lead on external discussions regarding changes to digital platforms.

•Design and implement a continuous programme of digital clinical safety assessments in support of national guidance and legal obligations.

•Working closely with identified Information Asset Owners, ensure all digital platforms are identified, centrally recorded, appropriately licensed and are delivering value for money in terms of usage.

•Working with the business’s Procurement Team, lead on regular reviews with identified strategic suppliers to evidence value for money and delivery against contractual obligations.

•Ensure agreed changes to digital systems are tested and approved prior to release in a live environment.

•In conjunction with identified IAOs, Business Continuity Lead and Head of IT Operations, ensure all digital systems are effectively protected, are backed up and have evidence of test restoration; reflecting the Business Continuity Plan in place.

•Chair the Digital Change Advisory Board.

 

Person Specification

The job holder will have (summary of the type of experience, general capabilities, skills, knowledge, training requirements, qualifications the ideal person would have)

•Master’s Degree or significant experience leading application support and system management teams of staff within a 24/7, complex organisation. 

•Extensive experience of managing programmes of work within a healthcare setting. 

•Experience of leading on the development of roadmaps, policies and organisational-wide processes to support the function. 

•Ability to manage priorities within a complex, demanding environment. 

•Experience of business case development. 

•PRINCE2 or APM qualification. 

•Ability to lead teams of staff and provide leadership to several team functions. 

•Experience of managing stakeholder relationships. 

•Detailed understanding of the healthcare landscape and national guidance in relation to Adastra and/or SystmOne.
