Finegreen are currently supporting an NHS primary care service provider in the appointment of an interim Medical Director for a period of 6 months initially, the role will be 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Responsibility for working across the organisation and organisational partners to assure and improve clinical quality across all of services provided;
  • Providing frequent and robust evidence that is sufficiently detailed to enable the CEO/Board to be assured of the clinical quality of the services and to understand the nature of patients' experience as well as alert the need to change services in response to feedback, complaints, new NHS directives and a desire to improve quality through innovations in healthcare;
  • Being the Executive Clinical Leader in the organisation, working with colleagues at all levels to ensure the ‘clinical voice’ is heard and acted upon;
  • Responsibility for the safety and clinical effectiveness of all services, delivering an effective clinical governance regime in all parts of the organisation;
  • Be visible and responsive to the needs of the clinical workforce, which will require being available from time-to-time during operational hours;
  • Oversee the supply of medicines and equipment for use by the clinical workforce and have overall responsibility for the management of controlled and uncontrolled Drugs;
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A proven track record of clinical leadership, provide clinical input into the day to day management of services offering support to the management team and work with colleagues on the review and development of policies and guidelines;
  • Qualified doctor (MBBS or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification which may include including membership of a Royal College or equivalent, and at least 5 years clinical service;
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance frameworks, NHS complaints procedure, SI framework, relevant patient safety guidance and frameworks;
