Formally established in 2021, the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) is one of the largest and most respected NHS providers in England, employing approximately 20,000 staff and serving a diverse population of around one million people across the North part of Greater Manchester. They work closely in each of their localities across Salford, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham to ensure that they are delivering care to their communities in an integrated way.

The NCA is strongly placed to support the development of integrated care across the wider conurbation, through a partnership model with other health and social care providers. At its heart is a real focus on place and they work with their system partners to develop outstanding standards of care for their local population. They want to build on this strong foundation ensuring the clinical voice is heard in their decision making, with the patient at the heart of everything they do. Due to the retirement of their current Chair, they are seeking to appoint a new Chair to take them on to the next stage of development.

The Opportunity and You

This represents a rare leadership opportunity, a role of significant scope and profile and one that has the chance to impact the lives of the hundreds of thousands of people NCA serve.

They are seeking to appoint an individual with excellent leadership qualities, evidenced by a positive track record of inspiring organisations to excel in service delivery, be that in the health sector or a different environment. The new Chair must be able to engage and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external senior stakeholders, play an active role in the success of the Greater Manchester system and at all times living and promoting the values of the Northern Care Alliance NHS FT.

They want their Board to be as inclusive and diverse as possible, so will look for individuals who bring lived experience that equips them both for the leadership aspects of the role and that brings an understanding of some of the challenges of their local communities.

If you can demonstrate the integrity, values and skills required, the NCA look forward to hearing from you.
