South West Health Region are seeking to appoint an experienced Director of Finance to serve the 750,000 population of Cork and Kerry. The primary objective of the Slaintecare reform is to deliver universal and integrated care, providing timely access to the care our community needs, when they need it. Critical in this is establishing an organisational culture that will continuously improve the access to, and quality of, health and social care services

The move to a regionalised approach, represents a major shift in the approach to the planning, funding and delivery of health and social care services. In line with international best practice, the new arrangements will support a population-based approach to the planning and resourcing of the geographic delivery of services to improve health outcomes people in Ireland.

The Director of Finance will have lead responsibility for delivering value for money, supporting optimal delivery of health and social care services. We are committed to using every Euro in the most beneficial, effective, controlled and efficient manner to improve, promote, and protect the health and welfare of the public whilst maintaining overall accountability for safeguarding assets against losses, and ensuring the best value for money.

The national and regional finance functions will work in partnership, including a professional relationship with the HSE Chief Financial Officer, to provide strategic and operational financial support and advice in achieving the organisational goals of providing high quality, integrated health and personal social services.

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Regional Director of Finance within the HSE South West Health Region from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
