Our client is looking for an innovative, compassionate, and visionary leader with a strong record of clinical excellence and strategic acumen to join them as their next MD. This unique and exciting opportunity will allow you to shape the future of healthcare services across Berkshire and beyond, in a trust with a distinctive mix of 50% physical and 50% mental health services.
Our client is proudly rated as "Outstanding" by the CQC. Their commitment to excellence is reflected in their staff engagement scores, which are among the highest in the NHS. They are financially stable, delivering on their planned budget, which enables them to continuously invest in their services and people. Their anti-racism work underpins their commitment to equality, and they foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. Their dedication to diversity and inclusion is at the heart of everything they do.
Their vision is to be “A great place to get care, a great place to give care.” Their core values of Caring, Committed, and Working Together are embedded in every aspect of their work. They operate in two ICSs, are a Global Digital Exemplar, and their Board is known for its stability and its genuine commitment to living the values of the organisation.
Against this backdrop, this is an outstanding opportunity for an aspirant or established MD to join their Board. As MD, you will play a pivotal role in leading their clinical teams to maintain the highest standards of care and clinical excellence. Your leadership will drive their strategic objectives and ensure they deliver exceptional care to their communities. You will be hands-on, whilst also contributing to the strategic direction of the Trust, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term visionary planning. This is a rare chance to join a dynamic and dedicated leadership team committed to making a real difference in the lives of their patients and staff. The reach and impact of your role as our MD is broad and will encompass:
- Strategic and visionary leadership to their clinical services, guiding them towards innovation and excellence. Enabling clinical excellence and ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical governance are met across all services. Fostering innovation and improvement, role modelling clinical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Partnership building and working collaboratively with internal and external partners, including ICSs, voluntary sector organisations, education, and commissioners, to support integrated care and shared strategic goals. Cultural leadership fostering a culture of continuous learning, development, and inclusivity that aligns with their commitment to diversity and anti-racism.
Our client would welcome interest from the broadest range of candidates, including those from different areas of healthcare provision and aspirant Board Directors who have transferable skills to offer. Of most importance is your leadership characteristics and alignment with their core values and behaviours. They are seeking a leader who is visible, engaged, and committed to delivering real change. You will have a proven ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on, pragmatic and solutions focused leadership, ensuring that their clinical teams are well-supported and inspired to deliver outstanding care.
They would like to understand, through the recruitment process, your commitment to the long-term vision of the role and the Trust. You will also have the humility, curiosity, and intellectual breadth required to engage effectively with all levels of the organisation and across multiple sites, whilst demonstrating strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, to build exceptional and sustainable relationships internally and externally.
If you are an adaptable, astute and visionary leader with a passion for clinical excellence and a deep commitment to diversity, inclusion, and long-term impact, they would love to hear from you. With our client, you will be joining a supportive and high-performing team and Trust dedicated to excellence. They value integrity, innovation, and collaboration, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients, staff, and the wider community.
They are proud to offer a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates from ethnically diverse backgrounds, disabled candidates, and former UK military veterans. They believe in providing equal opportunities for all and are committed to supporting the career development of underrepresented groups.
If you are ready to bring your leadership skills, clinical expertise, and commitment to high-quality care to an organisation that values its people as much as its patients, please contact Thomas Patterson at Alumni Global on thomas.patterson@alumniglobal.com or +44 7970 339 151.
