Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Salary: Competitive
Contract: Permanent
Location: John Radcliffe Hospital as the base but the role covers all sites
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country, with a national and international reputation for excellence. We are unique in our education and research – partnering with the University of Oxford to deliver world leading scientific research – pioneering discoveries that transform care worldwide. We also work closely with Oxford Brookes University and play an active role in our Integrated Care System, working with a wide range of partners including health, local authorities and the VCSE sector.
An acute hospital Trust we provide local, regional and national hospital services to the population of Oxfordshire and beyond. We have four main hospital sites incorporating a mix of retained and PFI estate. The John Radcliffe Hospital is our main ‘hot site’ and the Churchill Hospital is our ‘cold site’ providing elective care. We also have the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury. Most services are provided in our hospitals, but some are delivered across more than 100 satellite locations across the region.
We now have an exciting new leadership role as Deputy Chief Estates and Facilities Officer – Operational.
Reporting into the Chief Estates and Facilities Officer, this role will form part of the senior leadership team within the Trust’s Estates and Facilities directorate. The post holder will be responsible for the Trust’s operational estates and facilities functions across both hard and soft services.
You will develop and lead on the Operational Estates Strategy, ensuring it aligns with the overall Trust Strategy. The post holder is accountable for ensuring that the Trust is compliant with statutory and regulatory standards of Estate and Facilities management.
The size, scale, and complexity of the Trust presents an exciting opportunity for transformational change and a key focus for the postholder will be to drive forward improvements in governance, performance, compliance, assurance and reporting.
As a suitable candidate you will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to build and develop high performing teams. Given the size and complexity of our infrastructure, a building services or engineering background will be important. In addition to having strong technical skills and experience, you will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to present at Board level and articulate complex technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
If you are looking for an exciting leadership role with a high achieving Trust where you can lead with ambition, then we welcome your interest and application.
